Olly Boney

After completing his medical studies at Cambridge and UCL, Olly dabbled in various acute medical specialties both in the UK and Down Under, before settling down to specialise in Anaesthesia in 2009. He has trained since 2011 within the Barts and the London School of Anaesthesia, but is currently pursuing a perioperative medicine research fellowship at the UCLH Surgical Outcomes Research Centre.

His research focuses on outcomes of major surgery: how we measure them, how we ought to measure them, and how to standardise perioperative outcome reporting. The aim of all which - as he frequently reminds himself - is to facilitate robust systematic reviews in perioperative medicine, and allow meaningful comparison of perioperative outcomes between institutions.
